The Choreographer

I am a dancer and choreographer, especially in ethnic and contemporary dance arts who wants to take the next career step with an institution to create and develop art creatively and be able to compete in the world class. His interest in art innovation is rooted in the world's social and cultural, how to find the strength and uniqueness of the culture and develop it into a form that makes humans have a new view or interpretation of the culture.

PARASIT II

Parasit is the result of imagination and contemplation in observing the community of toilet users who live in the river environment in the Lubuk Landai area, Bungo, Jambi. The toilet is a multifunctional container used by the surrounding community to meet water-related needs. The artist interprets that the parasite is a metaphor for unilateral losses that occur between the relationship between humans and nature. as a result of human indifference to the environment. Humans are likened to parasites, who depend on nature for their lives, sucking the essence of life from nature but do not care about the sustainability of nature itself.

Mutualisme

Mutualism is the title of a dance work inspired by the phenomenon of the Jamban user community in Lubuk Landai, Muara Bungo, Jambi. Jamban is a multifunctional container used by the local community as a place to bathe, wash clothes or household equipment, perform ablution and defecate which gives rise to various patterns of social interaction and character of its people. This work aims to reveal events in Jamban about the importance of the values ​​of togetherness and communication between each other, but the need for public awareness of the increasingly sophisticated developments of the current era to open up to globalization.


Menarilah Ughang Suku Anak Dalam

This dance is inspired by the Zapin dance from Kampung Manggis in Kampung Manggis, Jambi. Zapin Kampung Manggis was originally used to spread Islam through its chanting lyrics, then along with the development of the era and technology, this dance was widely innovated by choreographers from Jambi and Indonesia in general for entertainment needs. In the Zapin dance, the Ughang Suku Anak Dalam dance is danced, there is a touch of new work that remains based on traditional patterns. Then inserting collaborative elements of local wisdom of Jambi culture that depicts the life of the people of the Anak Dalam tribe which is packaged in the form of a creative Zapin Dance.


Parasitisme

Parasitisme is the result of imagination and contemplation of the work of the passenger community living in the river environment. A dance work inspired by socio-cultural phenomena found in Lubuk landai, Muara Bungo, Jambi, namely events in the toilet. The latrine is a multifunctional container used by local communities to meet water-related needs. Borrowing latrines as a basic idiom in the concept of cultivation ideas, when culture must be maintained and remain empowered but globalization demands an awareness. , when something that is privacy has become public, then a general one is no longer closed. This is a process of inquiry to get better progress towards the final task of the creation of dance. There are many who are lacking and need to learn. I hope you like it.


Layun Balapik

"Layun Balapik" is a dance work inspired by the "Randai Minangkabau" pattern. Traditional art that combines dance, music, drama and martial arts of West Sumatra. This dance work concentrates cultivation through silat choreography and galembong pat, combined with innovative vocal accompaniment and music, producing new works rooted in traditional patterns. "Legaran" (circular) becomes the foundation in the cultivation of this dance work, putting forward the value of togetherness, cohesiveness and giving each other space. Related to the sound movement and aesthetic motion in the show. As the community terminology in "Minangkabau", every human being must have "Raso jo pareso".


Tualang Tiga

Presenting our final submission for Mari Menari (Silverscreen Edition) segment by Lab Art Project @lab.artproject, a kreasi baharu for “Tari Tualang Tiga” (Sumpah Orang Minyak, 1958).


NO Hope

No HOPE is the result of reframing the life story of a childless widow. Reframing an event with a more positive perspective on the issue. The concept used is shifting the medium, adapting a story to the body of the dance. Playing in the area of someone's perception to change emotions and behavior towards the negative stigma of a widow. The creation of this work carries phase by phase in the story of the past and the current situation through the body narrative. There is waiting, vigilance and imbalance in life. Then finally arriving at the true peak of human beings, namely living and surrendering to God.
